History[edit]Super Mario series[edit]Super Mario World[edit]Mario riding Yoshi with the power of flight in Super Mario World In Super Mario World, this form could be accessed in one of two ways: by having any Yoshi eat a Blue Shell (or by having a Blue Yoshi eat any shell), or by grabbing Yoshi's Wings. The latter would incidentally turn any Yoshi into a Blue Yoshi after finishing the current stage, though only in the original version. The Yoshi's flight controlled differently, depending on Mario or Luigi's current form: if they were in Cape form, they only needed to hold (or in the GBA remake) to fly; if not, the button had to be tapped, as with Raccoon or Tanooki Mario in the previous game. Super Mario 64 DS[edit]After a prolonged absence from the series, Winged Yoshi returns in the multiplayer mode of Super Mario 64 DS as Yoshi's answer to the other characters' Wing forms. Super Mario Adventures[edit]In Super Mario Adventures, after eating a Koopa Troopa wearing a Blue Shell, Yoshi becomes Winged Yoshi, which allowed him to fly with Mario and Luigi on his back. Yoshi accidentally spat out this Blue Shell later, causing him to lose his Winged form. Mario Strikers Charged[edit]The Winged Yoshi form makes an appearance in Mario Strikers Charged, where Yoshi briefly gains it while using his Mega Strike. Super Smash Bros. series[edit]In Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Yoshi's Super DragonFinal Smash turns him into a Winged Yoshi capable of breathing fire. Yoshi franchise[edit]Yoshi[edit]It has been requested that this section be rewritten and expanded to include more information (tagged on October 18, 2017). Winged Yoshi in Yoshi Winged Yoshi makes its first appearance in the Yoshi franchise in the title, Yoshi, where it makes a small appearance. A Winged Yoshi will hatch from a Yoshi Egg depending on the number of enemies sandwiched between the two halves (5 or 6 on NES and 4 or 5 on Game Boy) and reward the player 200 points. Yoshi's Cookie[edit]After clearing the 10th round of Puzzle Mode in the SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie, the player is taken to a congratulations screen with Cape Mario and a Winged Yoshi. Yoshi's New Island[edit]Winged Yoshi in Yoshi's New Island Winged Yoshis appear in Yoshi's New Island, after a Yoshi grabs a pair of Flutter Wings or Golden Flutter Wings, which are made available either after losing three lives in a level or by losing another one with the Flutter Wings, respectively. Clearing all levels without using either wing power-up lets the player fight Bowser before saving Baby Luigi and the Stork. Yoshi's Woolly World / Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World[edit]Winged Yoshi in Yoshi's Woolly World Mellow Mode in Kamek's Last-Ditch Flyby. Winged Yoshi appears in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. Players can switch to a new Mellow Mode, where they can choose to play levels as a Winged Yoshi. After jumping, the jump button must be held down to keep Yoshi flying. It replaces the Flutter Jump ability. This distinction returns in Yoshi's Crafted World. Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition[edit]Winged Yoshis appear in Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition as Helpers by unlocking them in the Special Worlds. Winged Green Yoshi is a Wood/Dark attribute team member that is unlocked by clearing ★World 3-; Winged Red Yoshi is a Fire/Wood attribute team member that is unlocked by clearing ★World 4-; Winged Light-Blue Yoshi is a Water/Light attribute team member that is unlocked by clearing ★World 5-; Winged Yellow Yoshi is a Light/Fire team member that is unlocked by clearing ★World 6-, and Winged Purple Yoshi is a Dark/Water team member that is unlocked by clearing ★World 7-. Craft Island is an island featured in Yoshi's Woolly World and its remake. It acts as the central hub of the game, and provides access to all of the worlds of the game. History[edit]The game starts in Craft Island, where Kamek turns all but two of the Yoshis into Wonder Wool, and flies away. After the Yoshis knit back the other designs, they can be viewed in the Yoshi Hut, and any enemies hit with a Yarn Ball can be viewed in the Scrapbook Theater, along with any music the player has heard during the game. Once the game is completed, the Boss Tent is unlocked, where the player can battle previous bosses without having to redo their entire level. Once the Yoshi Clan have collected every Smiley Flower, World ☆-S: Wonderful World of Wool is unlocked, and the giant ball of yarn in the middle is replaced with a Yoshi Egg with multicolored spots. Layout[edit]Craft Island is a circular platform surrounded by Worlds 1 through 5, with World 6 further off in the Handmade Ocean. Miis are dotted around the island, which show their Miiverse posts when prompted. There is a large ball of yarn in the middle, surrounded by a carpet, which is later turned into a Yoshi Egg. After Baby Bowser is defeated, the eight other Yoshi colors are unlocked and will reside on the island. There are four buildings on Craft Island: the Yoshi Hut, the amiibo Hut, the Scrapbook Theater and the Boss Tent with the Poochy Hut in the remake.
